About
An AI search engine answers a question in plain language and links the pages it drew on. In HowWorks, search runs inside your Agent conversation: the Agent searches the public web and uses the result links and snippets to write an answer you can check against those sources. Tell it what you are deciding, choosing or trying to understand, and add a date range when recency matters. A pricing question needs different evidence from a definition or a product comparison. Open the linked pages when a detail matters, then refine the question in the same conversation. When a question needs a longer investigation, continue with News & Trends, Code Research or SEO & GEO.
Questions
What is an AI search engine?
An AI search engine takes a question in natural language, finds relevant web pages and writes an answer from them, usually with links to its sources. The links matter: they let you check whether a page actually supports what the answer says.
How does AI search work in HowWorks?
This entry starts a web search through the Agent. The search returns public-page links and snippets that the Agent can use in its response, and it can search again to cover another part of the question. Read the linked sources when a detail matters to your decision.
How is an AI answer different from a list of search results?
A results page gives you links to sort through yourself. AI search writes an answer to your specific question from those results, so you can start from a summary and open only the pages that matter. A summary can still misread or overstate a source, so check key facts against the original page.
What makes a useful search question?
State the subject, the context and the kind of evidence you need. Instead of only naming a tool, ask which documented features matter for your workload. Add a date range when you need recent information.
Does this search private documents or every page on a website?
This entry searches accessible public web information. A result list is not a complete crawl, and it does not provide access to private or restricted pages. Name a public source directly when you want the Agent to investigate it.
Is a search answer the same as a research report?
No. Search gives you a starting set of sources and an answer to refine. Use the focused Code Research or News & Trends entry when the task calls for an investigation in that area; this search entry does not promise a separate report file.
How do I check a time-sensitive answer?
Open the original pages and check both publication dates and the dates of the events they describe. Prefer the source that directly establishes the fact, and ask the Agent to identify gaps or conflicting accounts.
